Boy oh boy I'm having a hard time finding the actual performance. So if anyone has a link please provide. The question of the day is if Adam Lambert was straight would this even be an issue? Oooh it's so gross blah blah blah but is the grossness factor just a coverup for some folks' own homophobia? Let's be real, let's be honest. There are still a lot of ignorant people who think someone would actually choose to be gay (no in their right mind chooses to be gay) so I don't know. I've heard about the controversy and hopefully I'll get a look at the actual performance and judge for myself.

One thing I will say that even Wendy Williams (huge black gay following) has said is that she knows more about his sexuality than his music. I say the exact same thing. I think the bigger issue for Adam Lambert might the fact that America knows more about his sex life than his music. Which would be fine if he was a porn star but not so great for a musician.

First of all, the performance was awful and my ears are still bleeding but....

It's funny how Shakira air humped the audience on that very stage with her very provocative dance routine, but nobody called her out on "flaunting her sexuality". Beyonce and all her routine and provocative gyrating? Not a peep.....but when Adam Lambert *kisses* a male dancer he is somehow "flaunting his sexuality".

I guess flaunting sexuality is only acceptable if you're a heterosexual female? LOL, what a bunch of silly people Americans can be....and I personally cant stand Adam Lambert so I have no bias.

I saw Shakira last night on SNL and she's got

A) talent... aka can sing AND dance,

and

B) doesn't need to use props to show off what she's got...

Oh, and in case you didn't notice, she's got!

If we were going to compare Shakira to Adam Lambert, I'd give her a 10 and Adam Lambert a 1. And yes, I do take note that she's female and he's male. But I could care less about their sexuality. Who's to say that Shakira is hetro and Adam is gay? Maybe it's all just an act. IDK and IDCare.

I saw part of an interview with Adam, and I don't dislike him btw, I just liked Chris Allen better... and he said one thing he DID regret and would like to have done better on the AMA was sing better. His singing was awful the whole way through and I noticed that. He did too and I give him credit for addressing it. I guess I kind of understand why. His mind was on trying to make a statement with the rest of his act.

I like Shakira. Yes, she can sing and dance, and dance very well. But your part B) there, well you haven't seen many of her performances over the past few years if you think that's her usual act.

I saw her SNL performance. It was like the old Shakira, but it was definitely toned-down. Maybe she took a clue from the fallout over Adam's performance...on-a-count of she ain't no saint in the performance dept.~~~~

You're right about the performance department. She was on SYTYCD last week. DH commented both Shakira and her dancers were simulating the sex act. I never paid attention to these female performers until the brouhaha over Adam on AMA.

Remember the infamous Madonna/Spears kiss?? There was issue with it, but I don't believe anyone canceled interviews with either of them or blurred the kiss out on network news

There's absolutely a double standard between female homosexuality and male homosexuality and it's ridiculous.

BTW, I don't like Adam Lambert's music, I don't think he's that great and to me he's on the same shelf as Lady Gaga... has talent but is wasting time on theatrics and synthesizers.

Yeah, I feel like he's using his orientation to cause controversy...but that's just me...

ps-his performance was uber gross.

Soooo...People stating that it was tacky and in poor taste are saying it because Adam is gay.
The boy on boy kiss isn't what was tacky.
What a load of BS.

It was tacky and in poor taste because it was tacky and in poor taste. Just like most of the videos out there nowadays.

He got what he wanted...to make some kind of "statement" and now that it's negative, he can cry "boo-hoo". I've lost all respect for him.

I hadn't watched the AMA for a long time. I was appalled by Lady Gaga and Shakira especially and was thoroughly disgusted by Adam Lambert's performance. That did it...I liked him in AI, but I will never buy anything of his nor ever watch him again. It isn't like I hadn't seen Lady Gaga or Shakira perform before, but they were over the top on the AMA's and I've lost a lot of respect for them because they don't need to act the way they did. I won't buy any more Shakira music either.
