I'm a child of the 60's and love the music from that era. I have emailed back and forth with the late, great Ellie Greenwich. She wrote so many of the great songs of the 60's..Leader of the Pack, Chapel of Love, Do Wah Diddy, Da Doo Ron Ron and too many more to mention. She also discovered and mentored Neil Diamond. I wrote her a fan email and was astonished to hear back from her. We wrote back and forth a few times during which I mentioned some health issues I was facing at the time. A year later I receive an email from her at Christmas wishing me a happy holiday and asking about my health. She said she was thinking about me and wanted to write to see how I was. Lovely woman.
Also emailed back and forth several times with the lovely Mary Weiss, lead singer of the GREAT group "The Shangri-Las." She invited my husband and myself to come to Cleveland for the opening night of her comeback tour. We went and had a ball. She gave me an original Shangri-Las button that she autographed. So nice and still beautiful.
I also wrote an email to Donny Weaver of the group "The Okaysions" telling him a funny story that involved his hit song "Girl Watcher." He wrote back the next day thanking me for my story and telling me he intended to tell it from the stage. Great guy.
Also received a sweet email from Kathy Young of "Kathy Young and The Innocents" after I wrote to tell her how much my husband loves her song "A Thousand Stars." She was so sweet and is still gorgeous.
