Looking to upgrade. Which phone do you guys think is better? And if anyone has any opinion on the new HTC Evo Shift, feel free to chime in. Thanks.

Evo hands down...it's so much smoother, and the Epic is still on 2.1...lol
The GPU for the Epic is better but the Evo just is such a good phone IMO

Evo vs. Evo Shift
I have the Evo. A co-worker picked up the Evo Shift.
I like my phone much better. She gave up the great 4.3" screen for a 3.6" screen, just to get the slide-out keyboard. And you don't need the keyboard. The virtual keyboard in the Evo is just fine.
I have large hands, and like the large virtual keyboard.

I am Very Satisfied EPIC user....Now I'm not hard core Geek like some guys so the 2.2 vs 2.1 issue is not a big deal for me...I haven't seen where my Epic has been limited from Apps or anything because of 2.1...
I solely chose the Epic over the Evo because I have nails and nails with the EVO's capacitive touch screen are not friends...Now if the Shift was out at the same time, I probably would went for it because I prefer HTC to Samsung..but now that I'm full acclimated with the Epic there will be no changing for me...
If you have nails and need the physical keyboard - Shift or Epic...No Keyboard - EVO...its that simple..

Just made this same decision in September and went with the Evo. Both are great phones, though.
I was a bit concerned at first about the lack of a physical keyboard, as I'm a big guy, but it hasn't been a problem. I see no need to go to a smaller phone to get a keyboard.
