Long story short, I had alltel and was merged into Verizon. Their customer service was terrible, and they tried to bill me over $1k in my first month for a feature I'd been paying alltel $10/mo for.
I knew alltel/verizon was the best game in town when it comes to coverage; I just needed a new provider until I could get my verizon situation straightened out.
I eventually got it worked out; I'm back w/ verizon and their lackluster customer service, but I have coverage everywhere I go.
