You might not want to post pics of that new car online after seeing this.

Or just turn off geotagging, and/or strip the geotagging metadata. I don't think proposing to stop doing an activiy is the solution. It's better to just learn about it and enable/disable it as you need.

I sometimes hang at a site where many pot heads also visit and post pics of their plants. They better think twice about posting those pics. I mean the cops could use this same technology to find their plants.

Yeah, like NJBest says, you can just disable geotagging/turn off the GPS location on your phone or just your phone's camera if you do not want to fully disable GPS. It's pretty straight-forward with Android and Blackberry. I would assume with the iPhone as well.

When posting pics on the net it may be better to just stick with using a regular digital camera instead of using a camera phone.

Go home and make your personal calls on your landline. If you want to send a picture, email it. Just because you CAN send a picture immediately, doesn't mean you HAVE to.

You can strip this information from images, even in batches.

Irfanview or Exifer will both remove, edit or add whatever you want.

The "Save for web" option in most image editors will also remove this, not for privacy reasons though. You get a smaller file by stripping it out.

OMG I am so tired of the paranoia. This option is TURNED OFF BY DEFAULT on Android, Blackberry and iPhone. You need to ENABLE THIS FEATURE for it to work.

Gotta' love the media for trying to scare us into watching the news -n- stuff.

No go worry about something else, mm'kay?
