I can do this. How much are you willing to pay?

Voice mail is not evil. It's a tool. What's bad are how people and companies misuse voice mail:

Group A) Individuals who have decided to no longer properly interact with other humans, and who leave their VM on all the time to "screen" calls. At some point however, these are usually the same people who complain in the future about how "no one calls me anymore".

Group B) Companies that turn on a permanent, "We are experiencing heavier than normal call volumes", VM and other interceptive tech to avoid having to "deal" with customers.

Tech is never a bad thing, but it's just like food - if you overdo it or misuse it, then it's unhealthy. Unfortunately, I think by nature, many of us don't know when enough is enough.

- You can't scroll back like you would with, say, an MP3.

- The interface is very primitive (having to enter numeric commands rather than going into an app and hitting "play voicemail", "delete", "save", etc.)

If there's any sort of app that'll automatically download all voicemails, convert them to MP3, and forward to an email address, that'll be a huge lifesaver even if it costs a fortune.
You mean something like this: Unified messaging - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Not sure how one would get it for personal use but it is taking off in the corporate world. No more giant Octel boxes you just leverage your existing Exchange servers.

I hate voicemail too but then I hate phones in general. I rarely use 'em myself.
