someone stole my cell phone is there a way to locate it free? It is a verison phone.

Only if you installed something on it to track it prior to it getting stolen.

Most verizon phones and other company phones do not have tracking methods. If you had the child locator application on the phone, than you could find it. Otherwise make sure to shut down your service ASAP with Verizon but try calling your phone to see if they answer but obviously don't call from a phone that you might not want a return phone call.

Google Latitude

I used this to find my phone once. Left it on the counter at the gas station.

I have an app on my phone by Asurion (the insurance provider), it's called Mobile Recovery. This could be what you are looking to get.
