I've been looking for a student discount on Sprint's HTC EVO for a while now, but I kept running into problems because the EVO is actually out of stock on the Sprint website. Yesterday I came across a deal with a student discount website where you can order the EVO from their amazon link and they will give you a 23% discount off your monthly bill. I think this sounds like a good idea since I believe it's cheaper on the Amazon site. What do you think?

Here's the studentrate amazon link you can use to order any Sprint phone then it says to email support@studentrate.com with your order # to get the discount.

More info:

StudentRate - Deal / Sprint Student Rate Member Discount

Personally, I'd go with EPRP.

I still think EPRP is better if your school is one of the 15% schools.

When I was with Sprint, all I had to do was call Sprint customer service and ask for the discount and they would use my business/student email to send me a link. I clicked the link and they applied the discount within 1 billing cycle. I don't think it really matters where you purchase the phone. Try giving them a call.

No offense, but as you stated, they are both posted here. What's keeping you from doing your own analysis?

Soo from what I gather, I guess it depends what you're doing, if you're upgrading or if you're going to be a new customer.

With the Sprint deal it says you get a service credit (for new lines) and rebate on top of 15% off the monthly bill plus waived activation fee and with the amazon deal you apparently get just 23% off your monthly bill.

I did some research on other forums... apparently some people managed to get 23% off their bill. Is there any way I could find online that list of schools that qualify for the various rates?

I think you're better off with the Amazon Sprint deal. Amazon is super easy to order from, it's free 2day shipping, cheaper phones, and 23% discount off your monthly bill.

Just my opinion
