Hi guys, I've found a free online tool to check your local network coverage, very useful for those who are ready to sign a contract.

The tool shows how many cell towers there are around your home or working place, and which carrier they belong to. You can even find detailed data about the cell towers, like CellID, LAC, coordinates etc, really interesting.

Anyway, if you are interested, take a look here View network coverage using OpenSignalMaps heat map

Good find! I *think* I've used this one before ... is this the data that gets collected by users running an app on their phone? The one thing to be wary of is that it's only based on the limited number of people running the app and where they happen to be when the app takes a survey. I ran the app for about a month and noticed a definite line of blobs along my daily commute, even though I had full coverage the whole time (yay Slacker).

Can't remember why I uninstalled it. Nagware, I think.

Imagine if carriers were required to post their ACTUAL coverage maps based on dBA? Hahahahaha!

I do not see any possibility in the near future.
