I work two jobs and can't have calls at one of them. The other job...well, calls are frowned on. So I text. Otherwise, my friends would never get to hear from me.
Texting is easier to talk about more things while the day goes on. With very contradicting research out there right now it seems that texting is the much safer thing to do too.
I have several friends that basically text. It takes me longer to text a message than to just call. It appears that serial texters practice advoidance, it keeps everyone at an arms length away.
Text. But I hate one word texts! Especially when I wrote a very long text and the only response I get is either "oh, okay, oh okay, cool, lol, yeah, or awesome." I also don't like it when people don't elaborate or don't put any emotions into their texts especially when they were the ones to start the texting. I stopped texting a friend of mine due to this.
Here was our typical daily texting:
Her- Hey
Me- what's up?
Her- nothing much. You?
Me- (put whatever I'm doing...)
Her- cool.
Me- (not knowing what to put, I just put yep.)
Her- yeah.
A few hours later...
Her- hey
Me- what's up?
Her- watching tv
Me- what are you watching?
Her- (whatever she's watching)
Me- (try to talk about the show)
Her- yeah
Another few hours later...
Her- Hey!
Me- (annoyed) hey...
Her- what's up?
Me- (I put whatever I'm doing)
Her- cool or oh.
Text. Its instantaneous, it's quick, and it's straight to the point. If it's something important I can respond, if it's somebody texting me B.S. Or somebody I don't want to talk to I can ignore it.

Texting is great for short messages, but for long conversations talking is better. I have had lengthy text convos too though...sometimes I don't really feel like talking.

This is how I feel. Like someone could text me a question and i'm looking at the text for like 5-10 minutes wondering how to answer it through text. Its frustrating.
