I searched this and couldn't find a thread so here goes -

I have finally stepped into the world of modern technology. I had my last phone for over five years, and it didn't have bluetooth capability. I finally took the plunge and upgraded to an iPhone. Now, I need a bluetooth device, but I have no idea what I'm looking for. I read reviews on Amazon, but I sort of feel like I'm shooting in the dark.

Any advice? What do you recommend? Are there ones I should definitely avoid?

Thanks!

Search for Jawbone/Plantronics discovery/plantronics pro voyager.

I have used and been using discovery, it is excellent in terms of call quality, noise cancellation.. You should get an idea.

I use Motorola H series because they have no ear bud, but only a speaker to the outside of the ear.
It is a little wind sensitive, but much more comfortable to wear, for me, than any ear bud device I have tried.

The current unit is the H730

Thank you all for your advice. I bought the Plantrontics Voyager Pro. I haven't synced it yet so I haven't used it. I will let you all know what I think though, as I'm sure others will be searching for headsets too.

I think you'll be happy with that model. I had one of these and it was great. Unfortunately it broke about a year after I got it. I travel a lot and it probably was stressed repeatedly at the area that failed, possibly as a result of being put into and taken out of computer cases all the time.

When I first got it, I did a bunch of tests to see if people could tell that I was outside on a busy street, at the airport, etc. I'd ask the people I was talking to, whether or not they could hear background noise. I don't recall anyone ever mentioning background noise on the call while I was using that headset.

I used it this weekend, and my friend said she could hear me perfectly. I have a small head, small ears and whatnot. It did start to hurt after about two hours. I might not have had it on well. I won't give up on it.
