I have had my iPhone 4 for almost one year now and have had absolutely no problems whatsoever until now. Tonight all of the sudden when I was trying to send an email off of my iPhone a message popped up that said,
"Cannot Send Mail
The user name or password for 'SMTP:XXX@AOL.com@smtp.aol.com: is incorrect."
I have looked online on Mac Forums and what not and I really cannot find a resolution to my problem. Do any of you know what I could do? This is really irritating because I have never had any problems and use my email many times on a daily basis.
I had this happen to a gmail account. I couldn't figure it out, but before I did figure it out, the problem went away. I wish I knew what happened. I did not change anything.
Some mail clients will assume an invalid user / password combination if errors occur at a certain stage in the connection routine. Usually you can just ignore it if it only happens occasionally (or once).
