So, I may be a bit late to post this but I thought I might get others opinion. Recently, I was trying to decide on whether to get the Galaxy S (4g) or Galaxy S II (non 4g). The S is virtually free as I am a new customer and it offered a $100 rebate and $100 credit on my bill. This phone is an old Verizon Charge that was revamped and 4g added to it. It would seem US Cell would have offered instead the 4g SII which is already out there but instead they offer the other. I decided on the S because of the rebate and the 4g speeds. The 4g speeds are amazing and the phone is pretty nice but not as sleek and does not have the duel processor as the more expensive SII. I really wanted to try out both in the store but for reasons I don't understand they couldn't let me try out an S without enabling a subscription. I REALLY wanted the SII but didn't know if the 3g speeds would be worth it. So what would you have done?

Are you sure the SII only has 3G? That doesn't make sense to me

Yes, their version is only 3g. Seems strange to me also but true.

So the store is telling you the s has 4g speed but the s11 does not?

I would contact the carrier itself and not the store where you are purchasing the phone.

Assuming the 4g speeds are available in your area

Personally have been using the s11 since december and love the device
