I just got a smartphone thru US Cellular and when my phone is on at home, the phone messes with Entourage (mac version of Outlook) on my computer. It doesn't matter if my phone is connected to the wifi or not - Entourage cannot do anything, it says the accounts are in use....I have to shut the phone off. Does anyone else have this problem? Any way to get around it? My previous phone (not smart) checked email and I didn't have this problem. Appreciate any help.
Looks like your android version could be either ICS or JellyBean, you might have to do some trial and error, I did a bit of googling and didn't find much. You mention that you tried turning of the phone's wi-fi, also turn off the data connection (put the phone in airplane mode), I suspect that will at least result in Entourage working without having to turn off the phone.
One more question, which email service are you using?
OH - Charter. Only problem putting phone in airplane mode is it shuts off my texting. I hope US Cellular can solve the problem.
That it will, but for now it's quicker to put the phone in airplane mode than to shut it off (can't text there either) and turn it back on and wait for it to boot, saves battery too.
It is an odd issue, I'm assuming the phone and Mac are set up the same way POP3, same ports, etc?
If the phone and mac are setup with the same POP3 then it sounds like both are handshaking with the mail server at the same time, creating the 'in use' conflict.
This is a bit over my head so I really appreciate the help....I searched online but did not find that Motorola link so THANK YOU!
