On Android, you can check how much battery each app is using. It even tells you whether the battery is being used while the app is in the background and foreground.

Why does it matter if your phone starts up a few seconds/minutes quicker? If your phone REALLY took 6 minutes to start up, you must be having issues or you have an old phone or something. Mine starts in 31 seconds (according to the app you listed up top) with the following apps coming up at startup: gmail, groupon, k-9 mail, maps, mybackup pro, pandora, reddit is fun, rom manager, screenshot it, startup manager, superuser, tapatalk, the weather channel, youtube, and zedge. This is not including system apps.

Maybe you had tons more than I do but I just don't see how potentially screwing up functionality of the phone is worth a few extra seconds or minutes of your day.

I am going to keep this app installed cause it does have some cool features, so I appreciate you telling us about it.

edit: screenshot for the cool little notification about boot time:

Yeah, that was an old phone with a lot of cluttered apps..

On my new HTC Evo V, I cut the boot time in half (roughly 2 min to 1 min)..
