Hi
I signed a 2 year plan with Sprint in March, and got the HTC EVO 3D. This phone has one of the worst batteries i've experienced on any phone. I want a new phone, possibly a Galaxy 2 (my girlfriend has it and the battery is great). Is there anyway me and a Sprint representative can work something out?
BTW I DO have insurance on my phone.

Insurance is irrelevant.

Sell your phone on Craigslist. Smartphones with a clean ESN command a pretty nice cash price from folks who don't have adequate credit to get a subsidized phone and contract.
Use the money to buy out your Sprint agreement. It should cover half to most of the cost.

Buy a new phone.
Galaxy S3
iPhone 5
HTC EVO 4G LTE

Before buying any of them confirm delivery of 4G LTE to your region or you will be stuck on 3G.

I have the S3 and battery life is better than the original EVO I had.

As MikeJaquiish pointed out, insurance has nothing to do with your current situation and should not be used to get a new phone unless there is something physically broken/lost/stolen. Insurance fraud is a seriously bad choice if the thought crossed your mind.

You will need to purchase a replacement device, but at full price since you aren't eligible to upgrade at a subsidized price. Your current contract is only about 6 months old so there is virtually no chance that you can get an early upgrade. Is your girlfriend's mobile eligible for upgrade ? If so, you could use her upgrade and use the new device on your mobile #.

Might be worth looking into Sprint's buyback program too. I'd get $170 off a new phone if I were to trade in my iPhone 4S.

get an extended battery for 5 bucks on ebay

sprints buy back program is a joke- whatever they offer you is nothing compared to what you can sell the phone for on your own
