I just received a text message from Cricket:

Quote:
IMPORTANT SERVICE NOTICE!

Starting 10/21, Cricket will no longer offer PAYGo daily plans at activation or for rate plan changes

http://mycrk.it/pgd
Just two months ago they raised the rate of the local calling PAYGo daily plan from $1.00 to $1.50 per day.

Now it appears like they will no longer offer this daily plan to new customers, or existing customers who want to change between plans.

I also tried the above weblink they provided, and it doesn't appear to be working? Not sure why? Maybe they sent the text to me before the link was ready?

I'm starting to think it's time to look for a new cell phone company.

Also ... I just tried calling Cricket Customer Service, and they do not yet know about this change.

Very strange?

Maybe?

The customer service person said another person called her about the same text message.

But it came from a 4 digit number - 5559, which is how Cricket sends text messages.

Non-Cricket messages have standard 10 digit phone numbers.

So based on it being from 5559, I'm guessing it was real.

So what can I do to reinstate phone service? Must I buy minutes from my checking account? They left us no options but stores are still selling phone cards and I just spent $35.00 plus a 911 fee! I did get my money back, though.

Looks like AT&T is beginning to make their mark on Cricket.
