It is true that only ATT got the Note.
The Note was actually a hit... I think even Samsung was surprised.
So much so that the Note2 will be coming this fall. I assume this will be on other carriers but not way to know.
The S3 is Samsungs most pre-ordered phone ever. It looks like a really nice phone.
I don't think any "regulars" here have a Note.

Sprint was rumored to be getting a renamed version of the note. I was holding out for them to announce it, but then the S3 came along and I started screaming, "Take my money!!".

LOL that sounds like something I would say....So did you get the S3? How do you like it?

It will be here on Tuesday, I bought it through Wirefly online.
I saw that Samsung has announced a 5.5" Note 2 that is about the same physical size as the first Note, slated for Sept/October release (link). Another phone on my plan comes up for renewal this September, so I may hold my breath for a Sprint release... Though I'll probably suffocate since they didn't ever get the first Note.
I would go demo them in the store. AT&T has the Note and Sprint and T-Mobile have the S3. If you like the Note I'd wait for the Note 2 to be released. I personally found the note to be too big so I went with the S3.
I'm still using the stock (now rooted) rom that was released on 7/1/12. Since I'm coming from HTC I want to play with the Samsung stock firmware before I flash any ROMs. I am deleting all the Sprint apps though ... thank goodness this phone can be rooted so those can disappear.
I started the phone up to update the firmware, profile, and pri. Then I took 5 minutes to root it. After rooting I started the phone up and waited while my ridiculous number of apps loaded themselves.
The phone is snappy and the screen looks amazing. I'm upgrading from a 2.5 year old Evo 4G so I may be easily impressed.
I just got the Galaxy Note ($99 refurb, ATT) with 5 gig data plan ($37)
It is my first smartphone.
Wouldn't go to Apple due to previous experience with iPods and iTunes. Also didn't like the hassles with proprietary Apple non COTS hardware like cables. Just seems like Apple is successful due to heavy marketing and support from glamorous celebrities.
I love it but, like I wrote, it was my first smartphone. It is a toy. I don't "need" it. But it is fun to "play" with. In most of my waking hours I am near a PC anyway either at home or at work, the rest of the time I am driving, playing basketball, swimming, or working in the yard or doing something during when a smartphone couldn't be used.
I like the huge screen which makes traffic navigation easier.
Four columns of apps icons.
I find it pretty easy to use but I am still a very Windows oriented person so I am getting use to Android interfaces.
