I had to decide based on speed. The 5 wins. However, I can't afford it, so I got a mifi device that gives me 4G LTE speeds for just $20 and $20 a month from Verizon. No need for the 5 when I have the spepd I need with the mifi device.
The 5 itself is faster. That makes a difference if you're a heavy user.

Only for customers in an LTE market. Otherwise there is no appreciable difference.

No. Really. I'm referring to the device.

I played with the LTE iphone5, it varies on different networks. I played with the Sprint iphone5 and it was slow due to poor evdo and no lte in the NYC market, however I toyed around with the iphone5 on at&t it was like night and day, lte made the phone feel real snappy, to bad I cant say the same for its battery life.

I am a fairly heavy user. i should go on a diet. Really the iphone 4 is still fast enough for me. It's still a good phone with 3G but it is faster on the wifi/mifi than 3G. It's a nice boost for an old phone. The 4G//LTE speed is faster than my home internet. I'm glad I found this solution.

I'm a regular charger anyway, so I guess that's never been one of my issues.

Sounds like that works for you. That's good.
