So my first Android phone would be Sony experia neo, it comes with a 1G cpu and 512 RAM if any one of you guys never heard of it. I got it rooted (4.0.3), and removed lots of built-in apps, actually from 180 to some 70. When I booted the phone, I got some 200 RAM available at best. It gave me smooth experiences though.
Then I installed official Android 4.0.4 without root, NUMEROUS apps autostart. It really lags after I installed a third-party desktop and some 30 apps. Then I rooted it and uninstalled lots of system apps, no delay again.
5 Months later I got my second Android phone, LTE2, Qualcomm msm8960 dual core, 2GB of RAM. Android 4.0.3 is really fast on this beast, I think it's as fast as Samsung Galaxy S3.
Last month LG released the Android 4.1.2 and I updated the first day, no root. But I am really satisfied with it, cos it's even faster, definitely NO lag!!! I try my friend's iPhone 5, and I think it's safe to say Android now gives even better user experience than iOS at the cost of hardware.
iPhone 5 has remarkable CPU and GPU, so should I say Android also does a better job in terms of OS optimization?
