I did not tell them it was for business. I wanted that residential rate!

Geez, I got to save money where ever I can!
I keep looking at google voice for a number, but nothing good comes up, thats why I went to the landline carrier.

I am not aware of a different monthly cost for business vs. consumer accounts, only that some business accounts may qualify for an additional monthly discount.

both verizon and att have let me choose my own 7-digit number (we have several pre-fixes available). i had to go into the store to do it; they had on their computer a list of every available number, and a search tool to lookup whatever number i was asking about. i don't think you'll get this service just calling the customer service line.

Does anyone have experience with this or could point me in the right direction?
