I know all power adapters are 5.0V to charge smartphones now days (Android & iPhone's for sure). However, i've been using a very old 5.1V micro USB power adapter wall charger. Will this result in battery damage after
a while because it has more juice than the phone can safely handle? I don't know much about electronics. TIA
Probably not but charges are so cheap, why risk it?
Also, I think wall chargers charge at 1 amp while USB chargers from your PC are a standard 500 mA.
When I use my Galaxy Note in my car I plug it into the cigarette lighter charger (USB connector). My % charge actually decreases while it is charging because there is so much demand (display, apps, etc).
Finally, I found the best way to manage power is to keep three extra batteries with me in my backpack. I have a battery charger on my desk at work. By 4PM, I'm down to about 25% so I pop it out and pop in a fresh one and put the 25% battery in the charger. The charger and three 2300mAh batteries was maybe $15 total.
