The phone died on Saturday morning, with the screen being a mess of greeny browny pixels and with some sort of weird gooey fluid leaking from the cracked screen.
Brought said dead phone to a Sprint store, where they essentially refused to help me and said Asurion could send me a new phone..."by Wednesday"....for $100, or I could sign up for another 2-year hitch and walk out with a new phone. For extra money, depending on which handset I chose.
No thanks.
I couldn't wait for a new phone, since my mobile is my only phone. I went to the Verizon store and got an iPhone. So far I'm happy with it and the service.
Thank you to everyone who gave advice...repped where I could.

Glad it worked out for you. I think you will be happy with Verizon. Like I said in my earlier post, its extremely rare for me to drop a call or even be in an area without service.
I did the same thing Today. Sprint was a pain in the bum: slow speeds and incompetent customer service agents. Last straw was when I got a 600 dollar bill in the mail because I added a new line. Sprint gave me the run around and didn't issue any credits whatsoever.
I bit the bullet, sold my current iphone 5 for 450 on craigslist and went with t mobile and got there 50 dollar plan + another iPhone 5. I'm just paying roughly 70.00 dollars a month. Ten dollars less but not bogged down with a contract, and just the 20 for the phone.
I don't even care about Tmobile speeds, customer service, or whatever; however, as long I'm not on a contract and cellular signal works, I am okay. Its only 50 dollars a month
