Our cell phones have been without service for more than 24 hours and I have people to contact, not socially. Whenever I call, I get Sprint India customer service and they mostly just try to soothe the beast that I am quickly becoming. They are working on the towers and said they would be done last night. They lied.

So, we like Sprint coverage because we might be living anywhere else soon. We make a very limited amount of calls and don't need "services", just what the phones used to provide in the 60's, you know, the old dial phones. I need to make and receive calls. I don't answer to call waiting because I think that is rude service unless you have special circumstances. I don't want messages. I keep telling my husband I'm going to run over my telephone and today might be the day.

Any suggestions? We are limited right now in the boonies in what is available. I am also frugal. Any help would be greatly appreciated and I will start looking at what is available after I find email addresses for the people I need to contact so maybe I can avoid traveling across town looking for a tower that is in service. Thank you.

We have selected Straight Talk after getting recommendations. We were at Wal-Mart and others were shopping, one because his two year stepped on his screen. Sprint cell here will be out for another 4 days, a total of 6 for us. We met a lady that hasn't had service for 5 days so her total will be 9 days IF we get service. They are working on tower upgrades estimated to take 5 hours yet it will take a week or more. If a regular contractor quoted a 5 hour job and ended up taking a week, I don't think he would be around long. Whoever made this mistake, made a BIG one.
