And that is only useful if you live in China. Useless for most folks.

Flip phones are going the way of the dinosaur.

There have been multiple attempts at making Android iterations with keyboards, flip or slider over the past several years. None of them sold well unfortunately.

I can see a different type of flip come out though. With the flexible displays coming out, we could very well see a resurgence in a flip type mechanism, but probably more 'fold' than flip and definitely not like the way it was.

It's funny to think when in the original Motorola Razr flip phone was introduced how popular it became and now the new Razr devices or tablet-style with virtual keyboards. Maybe in a few years, the flip phone will make a resurgence with newer technology. Everything old is new again.

My First experience with a "smart phone" was the MOTO RAZR first generation. I was able to get Internet on the phone and I didn't know that until about 9 months into owning it. But back in 2005 the mobile internet wasn't what it was today.

I actually do miss the style of the flip phone. I hope that the fliexible screen technology makes it's way into a flip phone, wouldn't mind having it as a back up device?

19% of the world lives in China and only 4.5% live in the US, so it would be most useful to them.

I am going to go out on a limb and say that a higher percentage of American households have a higher percentage of cell phones per person than most Chinese households.

Once techno world has perfected the human brain/computer interface your phone along with much else techno related will be available just by thinking about it, all possible by having a small chip implant presumably in your head.
