I am thinking about getting an iPhone soon, which service provider should I choose or buy the phone from considering the following:

1) I need unlimited text;
2) I don't use calling much;
3) I use data (website, map apps, etc.), but not much at all; and
4) I plan to keep the phone for at least 3 years.

Which service provider provides the best deal for someone like me?

probably a tech forum somewhere (rather than a NoVA forum) that might be more helpful...

Look at ROK Mobile to see if it will suit your needs. So far it seems to be on the Sprint footprint....it won't suit me needs....yet.

quite happy with verizon service in this area. I'm on a grandfathered unlimited plan though, so I don't concern myself with going over on minutes/data/texts

I use Sprint. They aren't the best in service, but I pay around $140 including taxes for two phones with 1500 minutes, unlimited data, texts and cheap phones with contract

You have to look at the individual plans each carrier offers. I just signed up with T-mobile's $50 a month plan. Unlimited text and minutes. The data plan is 1GB, then they lower the speeds. For $10 more you can get a 2GB plan. I'm trying the 1GB plan to start with to see if it will work out for me. If not, $10 more is stilled $15 less than I was paying with AT&T.

Where do you live? The best carrier out there depends on your location... But if you want to be pretty safe, you can go with Verizon

Tmobile's pre-paid $30/month for unlimited internet, texting and 100 minutes.

Prepaid Cell Phone Plans, No Credit Check | Monthly 4G | T-Mobile

Halfway down the page. Just have to activate your phone online. Obviously make sure Tmobile gets a decent signal in your area.
