Got the phone finally. First impression is that it's an excellent phone. I can finally read text on screen without having to zoom in all the time. Kinda glad I passed on Blu 7.0 cause this phone barely fits my hand.

We told you the S4 would be the right choice...

ATT was offering a certified S4 off contract for $179.99 last April. Did you wind up buying a new or used model, and which carrier did you go with?

A recent article in the WSJ declared the Moto G to be the best under $100.00 smartphone out there, while the HTC One M7 goes for $199.99 @ Best Buy this week.

Well he already got a phone, Marv. Don't think he needs anymore help.

The HTC One M8 is $99 at Verizon. The Moto G is a 3G phone. That's the phone for people who "just want a phone".

Used At&t in great condition for $150. I could resell it and make a profit as ebay guarantees $200+ for it.

I believe that $179.99 offer was actually like $230 because they tax the retail price and required a new line.

After just 2 weeks, looking for a different phone..... the S4 screen is very difficult to see outdoors even when it's overcast.

Looking at the LG G3 and HTC One M8.

Ah, no. It's a smartphone. I have the 2013 model, (got it just to compare android with my iPhone) and while it doesn't blow me away, it is definitely more than just a phone. I had just a phone, up until Dec 2013, and I actually prefer carrying/using that type of phone. I like to use my phone for actual conversation, and today's humongous "phablets" are just absurd to carry and use. So far, I like my 4s the best, as far as smartphones go. It was going south, battery-wise, and my son put a new battery in at Christmas so it is like a new phone now. Using the two phones - I still prefer the iPhone. Probably more than anything else, I use my phone to make calls - and with the iPhone, calling is a one-handed, one finger press operation (Siri), and nothing I have see or found, beats that.

But I have to admit that the "smart" part of these phones is convenient. It is nice to check my bank account, or eBay, or look up a phone number...I have become used to it so I doubt I could go back now. I wish there was a way to combine the size and handiness of a flip phone, with the smarts of a smartphone.
