I'm looking at changing from AT&T to Tmobile, and I'm not really up on my technology!
There's a Tmobile plan for $60 a month that offers "unlimited talk/text/data", and with 3GB of LTE data.
Why is it advertising both unlimited data and only 3GB of LTE data? Are the two datas different things? Do I get a limited amount of faster data, but still have unlimited of the slower stuff?
After 3GB of data on their LTE network you are dropped to 2G speeds, which is pretty bad compared to LTE. Still usable but not if you like watching netflix or something.
NEW! Data Stash, which rolls your unused 4G LTE data into the next month — PLUS, you’ll get up to 10GB 4G LTE data FREE to use first. Up to 3GB of 4G LTE data. Speeds reduced after 3GB. No overage fees.
Unlimited music streaming on services like Pandora, iHeartRadio, and more that doesn’t count against your 4G LTE data
3 gigs on a phone for a month is not for watching movies. And since you won't be watching movies, you'll have 100 megs a day. That's a lot of web browsing on a phone. If by chance you go over 3 gigs towards the end of the 30 days, speed is dropped to that similar to old DSL speed.
Who's your current provider? Check their site and see your past 6 or so months of usage. If it's low, the plan will work for you. If it's high, it may not.
I'm in the same boat regarding data usage; the Boost Mobile LG Volt 4G LTE smartphone is on sale for $59.95 @ Best Buy this week, and they offer unlimited text, talk & data plans starting at $35.00/month.
Boost Mobile throttles speeds after 2.5GB to 128 kbps which is slooooow.
I used to be with Virgin Mobile when they didn't throttle even after 30GB and all for just $25. How I miss those days.
