I have been with Verizon Wireless for at least 8 years now and have paid premium dollars for their services. I must say that their receptions and services are two thumbs up. I am still on Unlimited Data plan and it is just great peace of mind. I do not watch for data usage and etc.

What about you? Did you gave Unlimited Data plan and then later converted because the carrier forced you to? Or you changed for certain reasons? I internet a lot and use Waze app almost everyday. Certain months data consumption goes up to 50GB+. I don't know what I'll do if they decided to kill the Unlimited data.

Do tell?

I was also grandfathered for many years after they eliminated the unlimited data, but rarely used more than 233GB. Any change to the plan resulted in the loss of the unlimited, so when we dropped one line (son moved out and on his own)
I lost it and now have 5GB. Still always keep well under, the most I ever used was just over 4GB. I did hear that for people on unlimited they are slowing down your speed as you get above a certain usage, but it's hard for me to imagine using 50GB, even using Waze unless you are driving a delivery route all day.

I had unlimited on AT&T and gave it up to get 20gb per month with free hot spot(no hot spot on unlimited plan).

I recently quit AT&T for T-Mobile and now have unlimited again and a free hotspot with 5gb per line each month.

We still have 3 grandfathered unlimited Verizon lines.

We travel a lot and need the unlimited data, so it's not worth giving them up for us. One line is tethered to our router and acts as a modem for the entire RV, and the other two we use as phones. The two phones are usually under 10 GB each, but the third line routinely uses 80-120 GB per month.

As for throttling, AT&T did introduce throttling on their unlimited lines (like all of the other carriers do), but Verizon didn't. We get the same speed no matter how much data we use.

Do you pay for the tethering feature or you get that for free?

Unlimited on Cricket, but they slow you down after 2.5gb or 5gb.

I pay for it on that line. It's $30 a month, but I'd rather pay than have any questions on the data usage on that device.

You get tethering for free on the normal Verizon plans, but not on the old unlimited plans (although I did get free tethering on the plan originally, but that was in the 3g days).

I live out of the USA, but I'll be back soon. Right now, I have 3g speed unlimited, no throttle, tethering, for about $60. Not a bargain, but I don't have or need a home Internet connection.

Which US carrier has the same plan? I don't mind if I pay more (not beyond $100).
