Some of the apps and notifications would be dandy. Calendar and appointments, a quick response to a text. The ability to leave the phone at my desk when I am in a meeting. The fitness apps. I see the potential. Usually, I don't run out and buy the first generation.
I bought it because:
*OK well honestly the #1 reason was because Verizon had a sale where I saved MORE then 50% on it and only paid $100.
*Don't forget your phone! No more leaving my phone at a friends, or a restaurant or at work or at my house. If I get out of range of my phone (which is around 90 feet) my watch buzzes and says "Hey, are you forgetting your phone?"
It's like diving equipment. The computer used to hang from your equipment at about waist level. Then they figured out they could transmit a wireless signal underwater up to about 5'. They moved the basic information to a watch. Now if you are swimming from a shark, your information about how fast you are using up your oxygen is right there where you can see it.
But I suppose $100 for an electronic tether for a $600 phone is better than paying insurance.
Actually, since it uses Bluetooth 4.0, you have a hypothetical range of about 300 feet or 3/4-4/5 of a football field and that means the phone is not required to be on you.
You'd be surprised. Many here predicted it would become the "next big thing"..... but I doubt Apple even recouped their developmental and ad dollars spent on it. They spent more money on ads for this flop than they did for Iphone 6.

A fancy pedometer. Plus some people are allergic to the metal and breaking out in rash. Just cheaper to get a FitBit, IMHO.
