The 950 will be a good phone. The camera will be impressive. I'm going back and forth on whether to update my Windows phone to the 950XL but I may wait until next year when the Surface phones come out. The word is Microsoft decided only to use AT&T for the 950 and to sell it from their store and when the Surface phones come out (late 2016) that MS will return with Verizon, Sprint and T- Mobile. MS got criticized for only letting AT&T sell the 950. The other carriers want to control the updates (very slow). MS negotiated some control with updates from AT&T for the 950. I don't blame MS for doing this. When I went to check out the Nokia Lumia phones when they first came out the Verizon sales lady tried to get me to buy an Apple phone instead. LMAO. Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint are cliques for Apple. They are horrible 'partners' and they take their sweet a55 time to update (probably on purpose for obvious reasons). AT&T isn't an angel, either, but at least MS got some control for the updates. AT&T's marketing effort will be very mediocre for the 950.

-Cheers.

A few months ago, ATT Device Support Center told me that MSFT is getting out of the phone business, and that ATT will no longer be carrying them. "Get an Android."

"Surface Phone"?
If MS does come out with its own phone PLEASE don't call it "Surface Phone".

I believe it. This is why MS is basically starting over on their phone partnership strategies with the 950 and 950XL by only going with AT&T and selling the phones on the MS store. MS has found out that the phone carriers don't do more. On the flip side, the carriers blame MS. LOL.

MS will never catch up to Apple or Android in terms of sales but MS will be a decent third choice. I don't think MS wants to compete with Apple or Android, head-on, to sell more phones than them. It would be a lost battle from the get go. There is enough profit for them to be in third place at this juncture. Just imagine if there were only 2 operating systems to choose from? How awful that would be. It would be like only having 2 car companies to choose from or only two of anything. The more choices for the consumer the better.

-Cheers.
