I am in need of a new phone, currently an Android user who wants to make the move to Apple. I have read up fully on the specs on the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6s, so I do know the differences. Right now the 6s would cost $100 more than the 6- so in your opinion, do you feel the 6s is worth the extra $100 for someone just jumping in like I will be? I'm not concerned about features like live picture or the new touch options, but I am not sure if the extra RAM and faster processor speed would make it worth the extra money.
I don't do gaming on my phone, I simply use it for email, web surfing, apps for message boards and news, and taking pictures.
I would plan to keep the phone at least 2 years, if not a bit longer before upgrading again. I don't mind NOT being cutting edge, but also don't want to find myself in a year being on a phone that is dog slow and unable to do what I want at a reasonable speed because it's so old- would I find myself in that position with the 6 since it's already a generation old now?

I think it would, because of how fast the internet is growing and changing, meaning the technical stuff.
That's what I would do, if I were planning to get a new iPhone now.

The 6 should be perfectly serviceable for the next few years if you want to save a little cash.
I have a 6 Plus 64 gigs. I'm a 5'4" woman with small hands. I looooove iPhones and everything Apple except for how BIG the 6 Plus is. I don't wear skinny pants and the phone sort of fits in most of my pants' pockets. I watch Netflix on it and love the storage capacity. I'm probably going to go to a 6S with Apple's upgrade plan because, for me, the 6 Plus is too bulky and big. I've had it for a year and I'm tired of how big it is.

If the size isn't an issue, go for it!!!
I upgraded to a 6 in January. I debated between a 6 plus with 16gb or 6 (standard) with 64gb. I debated for a while, finally I opted for a 6 with 64gb. I am glad I did.
I use an iPad Air 2. To me the 6 plus is comparable to an iPad mini.
IMO, go with the s. The s models are always better and fix the bugs and features discovered in non s models.

That won't happen with an iPhone. The older iPhones (4?/5/5s) are still keeping up with flagship androids, albeit slightly slower.
Whichever phone you buy, just make sure you get as much memory as you can afford. Those with only 16gb have trouble when it comes time to update the software.
