I am with Smart Talk as a carrier. I have been trying to figure out how to get more than 20 seconds of ring time on my smartphone. I have been at this for about 2 hours. Websites have given me a variety of directions, none of which work. I have called Straight Talk twice. Each call requires about a half dozen redirections taking about five minutes. The first time I called I was told that voicemail options would allow me to get extra ring time. Nope. The second time I called a technician had me on hold for about ten minutes and when he returned, he told me that he had extended my ring time to 35 seconds, which I had requested. Nope. Didn't happen. So, any ideas?

Ring time is completely up to the carrier. There is no way to change it on the cell phone.

With ATT they can (and did) reset my ringing time to 40 seconds. What a difference 20 seconds makes!

Sure they can. But as mentioned, the customer has to call the carrier first. Can't extend the ringtime yourself.
