I am pretty tough on tech ..........a bit of Job a bit of Woz..........but Android only so far

I bought the phone through the VZ dealer at the big box store and nothing was set up at all and I had to factory reformat the phone on day 2?

There is a lot of bloatware still on there...........a lot of junk from Google and Samsung

I may just take this back and stick with my S4 because I was expecting more for $260 and a 2 year contract

Considering get a rooted phone again since it's next to impossible to root VZ phones/or lose warranty immediately and maybe go back to Page Plus or PTel maybe

I only read 1 other CD review on the S7 curious if anyone else has pros the would like to share?

It's the most talked about phone available right now, and is generating nearly universal, overwhelmingly positive praise. The bloat is annoying - put them all in a folder on the last page of your app drawer to minimize the bother. At least you can add an SD card! The phone is nearly perfect, and even beats the iPhone in just about everything. Main drawbacks would be the speaker (tho this is true for many phones including iPhone) and the fingerprints that accumulate on the back. Really that's about it, besides nitpicking. It's a stunning piece of hardware all around.

The real question here is why you paid $260 up front with a 2 year contract? Just pay monthly, nothing up front.

Because if you do the arithmetic like I did you end up paying more that's why, it was about $40 more to finance it which is always the case..............you pay to finance something.

Thanks for the points on the app drawer I may just root since I found a way freeze bloatware so as not to mess with warranty and get a better case like I have for my S4.

Some of the challenges are getting used to a slightly different UI from 5.0.1 Lollipop.

You don't have to root or hide the bloatware. Simply install Package Disabler and it will disable all bloatware.

I have a Galaxy S7 Edge and love it. Only complaint is that it doesn't seem to hold calls as well as my previous S6.

There's an app called package disabler you can try for removing bloat, heard lots of good things about it.

And there is no financing charge when you pay monthly, at least in my case. Not sure what your scenario is but that sounds different from everything I've heard about these no contract plans. 2 year contracts are going away and that is a GOOD thing for customers. You are paying up front AND monthly, AND are in a contract.

I really like wifi calling - at work inside I get poor reception that used to eat up my battery but wifi calling solves that.

Interesting I am on VZ HD voice in So Cal and it sounds even better than my S4 with LTE network.

I am on their loyalty plan too $60 for 2 gigs unlimited voice/texting no sharing needed so that means contract makes sense for me.

This is why I switched to Samsung originally the voice quality has been good for me and since I sell tech I better sound clear when I call.
