However all I see is very negative comments about it for the most part all over the internet. Is Sprint really that bad nowadays, and should I consider Verizon or ATT over them?
I like Sprint because it would be less upfront and monthly for the same phone from what I've researched. I guess less means less in this case?

Like I said in the other thread, Sprint is fine if you don't plan to travel outside of urban areas. There is no point in saving $20 a month if your phone doesn't work on a road trip or if you need to call AAA when you have a car issue and your phone says No Service.
What you read is true. The best thing about Sprint is that is less expensive than ATT or Verizon. Assuming you don't care about coverage.
I'd suggest starting at the higher level and see what your usage is. You can always change data plans if needed. Starting with the higher plan is safer in terms of cost, overages can be expensive. But if you find yourself running at 2gigs per month after three months you can safely drop down to the 3gig plan
Something I forgot to mention is that I don't have necessarily good credit. If you have almost bad credit(its not terrible but not good either) how will that affect you getting a phone and how much more do they charge(verizon, att, sprint)?

It depends on OP's usage needs. People bash this cell phone company and that, and especially complain about signals, but OP may find Sprint suits him/her just fine. Personally I would avoid Verizon because they continuously raise their prices with no benefit to the consumer and have just now raised their "upgrade charge" to $20. This "fee" supposedly compensates Verizon for the inconvenience of your buying a new shiny $700 phone from them. Because they have to enter the new phone's information into the computer and scan it in with their scanner, they get to bilk you for another $20
Also, OP, don't forget about spinoff carriers that use the larger carrier's signals, like MetroPCS (which uses Sprint), Straight Talk, and Consumer Cellular, among others. You can save a lot of money on your cell phone bill and still get the phone you want.

Your credit has nothing to do with the cost of your cellular monthly service or the price of the phone, it determines whether you have to pay a deposit to start service.
What about Winter, Summer or Fall? How about those seasons ???
