2 days ago the keyboard on my Droid Ultra turned white, with hard to read thin black letters, and no boxes around the keys. After trying everything I can, there appears to be no way to change it back. Even the "help" screens show it looking this way. Perhaps due to an Android update? Perhaps time to finally change to an I-phone.
Try checking under the accessibility options in settings. If that doesn't work look under thre keyboard and input section and the options for your keyboard. If it's a third party keyboard uninstall and reinstall.

Google released a new keyboard which is really nice.
Thanks to all. I found it from this but mine calls it "Preferences." I was able to get it changed back to the dark keys with frames.
