What is best/reliable/affordable Samsung Smartphone alternative?
==============================================

Thanks for replies to my posting. I did post recently . Here is the follow up post related to unlocked smartphone.

I searched on internet on following subject. I find the following list.

Samsung's Galaxy Note 5
Samsung's Curved Galaxy S6 Edge+
LG V10, LG G5
Motorola's Moto X Pure Edition
Google's Nexus 6P Comes From Huawei
Ascend Mate 2 Is Another Huawei Option
LG G3 Delivers High-End Features
HTC One M8
Google Nexus 5, Nexus 5X

I prefer a model with Android that has Micro SD card to extend storage and replaceable batteries.

Did anyone in this forum use above models?

If you have a better alternative not listed above, feel free to share.

Where can I get the unlocked smartphone with best deal?

Thanks for sharing

The short name for the type of phone you are seeking to match is "flagship." To beat the price charged for the flagship phones, look at other brands of Android phone that are considered off-brands in the US. This article lists a few and describes their products.

5 of the Best Android Phone Brands Few People Know About

The best way to get an unlocked phone is to not buy it at a provider.

I've been a fan of Samsung (Verizon). However, the Nexus 6p has recently won me over. It was quite a bit cheaper (on sale from Best Buy) than an equivalent Samsung phone from Verizon retail. There is no removable battery and no SD card slot though.... seems to be two things disappearing from many phones. It is pure Android so you don't need to deal with all the "extra" stuff layered on top from TouchWiz.

So far, the only gotcha is that there is no app available for non-verizon phones that supports Verizon's voice mail. I've been forwarding my voice mail to YouMail instead.

On your list I would go LG V10. or V20 which will be released in a week or so and is the only company still doing replaceable batteries.

usayit, he wants a replaceable battery and SD storage. And actually more companies are going back to SD Card storage after giving it up (like all of them). Google is the only one that wants you to forget about SD Card storage.

usayit; have you looked into using Google Voice? I use it for Voice Mail and it's as good as Verizon's and adds transcription.
It's easy to set up. Get a free Google Voice number and: https://productforums.google.com/for...ce/2Zgc2AjG9Pw

Skip the list, I wouldn't consider a single one of them. Go with the ZTE Axon 7, the Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3, Huawei Honor 8, or the Asus Zenfone 3.

Thanks for your replies. I did review all your suggestions. I checked with ringplus plan folks. They say, SPRINT branded phones only acceptable to their plan. What are the SPRINT branded phone?

I did find Samsung note 4 unlocked is pricier than Galaxy S5 unlocked.

I did review walmart, newegg, amazon for pricing. What are the sites to get unlocked phone on fair price?

Thanks for sharing.

that was the phone i was going to get. but my issue is the non back lit keys and the lockscreen notification bell thing. also i'm weary of the company's support if something happens with the phone.
