Will a clear phone case fit over a skin? (Verizon, iPhone, free)

I ordered an iPhone 7 the other day. However standard black, in the version that I want, is the only one my Verizon store has available if I want the phone this week. All other colors are on back order for a couple of months. It's not really a big deal since I'm going to cover it with a case anyway. A free case comes with it, but the only one they had that I liked is clear. I don't know the thickness of the case because I don't have it yet. Has anyone used a case over skin?

Just use a paintbrush and paint and carefully color the phone however you want it to look.

They are on backorder for 2 weeks, not several months.

Yes a case should fit over a skin but it's impossible to be 100% sure.
