I actually prefer LG, even for the budget models. I've had a Moto E 3rd gen, and hated it. Particularly the two microphone situation, which, although it does wonders for capturing audio when you're recording video and audio causes insufferable echo on VoIP calls. Plus the Moto phones seem to be slow.

If anyone is interested there's a Moto G 3rd gen for sale over at TextNow for $19, for a limited time. Tempted, because of the 13 mp camera, but then I think about the Moto E and how much I grew to hate that phone and I have to walk away. Only good thing about the Moto phones is that they're near clean Android, with the exception of the Motorola apps (which are actually quite good), and the battery life. Twist your wrist to active the camera isn't bad either. But LG has double tap to wake, and is smoother overall, even with the bloatware.

I even like LG better than Samsung, but that is an argument for a different day.

Perhaps my experiences would be better off on the higher end of what Motorola has to offer.

I have the Moto X which has basically been a good phone - up to now since I dropped it and that's another issue. It was on sale at Bestbuy for $250.00. I see now it's retailing for $280.00. You may could find cheaper elsewhere.
