What's your current phone situation? About to die or dealing with a shattered screen? It's all rumors at this point regarding the next iPhone but it's supposed to be a bigger update. Of course you could always get the 7 now and if you really like the 8, then sell the 7 on eBay or swappa. You'll get a lot of money for the 7.

No my phone is working just fine, but is a 5s and is small compared to the 7 or 7 plus....I like the idea of a bigger phone. I got my current one 2 years ago, and could have gotten a 6 or 6 plus then but a friend convinced me the 5s was better and I listened.

I know this is silly but I LOVE the new red 7's

Will the 8 be far superior? Does it matter?

Going from a 5s to a 7 will blow you away, performance and camera wise. Same will probably be true for the 8. Will it matter? Probably not for someone upgrading from a 5s.

The larger screen of the 7/7 Plus you will like, but be warned; some find the plus too big if you carry the phone in your pocket. Or have smaller hands-one reason the SE does so well. I find the screen size of my 6 works well and it is more pocketable than my 5 was.

The 8 will be better of course. But how much better is up to the individual user. It's the 10th year anniversary edition so a much needed redesign is expected. The more consistent rumors I've read are less bezels (similar to the new Samsung S8 but not that bezel less or edge to edge.) Wireless charging, & likely removal of the home button. There's also talk that those or some of those features will only be on a more expensive model & that model will be pretty pricey. Again, it's all rumors at this point. We've come to a point & Apple admitted this a year ago or so, that cell phones are pretty maxed out. There's not a whole lot to improve on at this point. Apple's vision is for a cordless, buttonless phone so expect them to go more in this direction & less towards better speeds, camera, thinness etc.

The iPhone 7 is a fantastic phone. I doubt many have regretted purchasing it. I had a 5S & ya, I got tired pretty quick of the small screen. If you really like the new red 7 then go for it. It's a special edition, so the red color likely won't be available again. Another thing to keep in mind is the iPhone 8 will likely be announced in the fall event in Sept. Then you have to wait a week for it to become available to order. The last iPhone releases have been on back order meaning you may have to wait into Oct or even later for your new phone to ship.

I've heard that the unsubsidized price of the 8 will be north of $1,000, so you'll want to ask yourself if you can afford it,

Why? Is there something you don't like about it?
