I have a Galaxy S7, and the screen is flashing. It flashes about halfway down the screen towards the bottom, sometimes it's white, but most of the time it's different colored stripes.

Any ideas as to what's causing this?

Sounds like the LCD display is failing. Is the phone still under warranty ? If not under warranty, take it to a local phone repair center for evaluation. Not likely something that won't require a screen replacement.

It's still under warranty because it's not paid for yet. There's a crack in the screen, and I don't know if T Mobile will do a warranty exchange.

For a cracked screen, I can guarantee that it won't be covered under warranty. Any chance you have phone insurance ?

Just because you are still paying for the phone does not mean it is still under warranty. The warranty from Samsung is only 12 months and the S7 was introduced about 2 years ago. I got mine in Feb 2017 and it is no longer under warranty even though I still have about 12 months left of payments.

I have phone insurance, but the last time I had to use it (on the S5), they were defective. The original one was bad, the insurance replacement was bad, and the one that tech support sent me was bad. After that I decided that I didn't want to chance it again, so I got the S7.

I'll have to see if I can trade it in on another S7, because I like it, and can't afford an S8.

Give it a few days. The S9 is coming out, and the price on the S8 might drop.

Phone insurance replacements are always used, referb units. One reason I don’t bother with insurance.

It won't be for a while, yet. I'm too broke to get another phone right now, unless this one totally dies.

I only have it in case it gets lost or stolen.
