How do you text with the headphone jack on the bottom on the phone? (sound, texting)

I have an S9 Plus and if I'm listening to music and texting at the same time I'm having trouble. I usually rest my pinky right on the bottom and my headphones get in the way.

It doesn't make sense. Why not keep the headphone jack at the top?

It seems a bit more natural to put your phone in your pocket top-first.

Wired headphones are a bit out of date?

Try Bluetooth and no cords in your way?

I wear hearing aids and the sound goes right into my earbuds via Bluetooth.
