I just got a new Samsung J7 V 2nd Generation phone from a Verizon Wireless store here in the U. S. last week and can't seem to find an LED notification light anywhere. I want it to have an LED light somewhere along the top panel above the screen that blinks if you get a text message or missed a call. Is this available? The phone has Android version 8.0.0. Thanks. Any instructions I find online are either outdated and / or have screens and setting menu names that are different than what I have with this phone. Thanks.
Did you try this?
Go to settings; click accessibility > hearing > then turn on Flash Notification and that's it. Your rear flash will blink whenever you receive a call or message.
Well, thanks. That helps a little bit. The camera flash blinks only twice and then doesn't keep blinking. So you could still not realize you've got a voice or text message if you didn't happen to see the initial 2 blinks. Would you happen to know if there's an actual LED on the front of the phone that will keep blinking until you pick up the device and unlock the screen? And, is there a way to also make the lock screen light up momentarily when there's a notification?
You can turn LED notifications on or off in the settings menu. The exact path will differ depending on your device and operating system.
You will find the toggle to turn LED notifications on or off at:
Settings > Notifications > Do not disturb > Hide notifications > No LED indicator OR
Settings > Display > LED indicator OR
Settings > Sound and notifications > LED indicator
Note that you may need to scroll down the screen to see all options.
