everytime I push the Power button on the side to turn the display on, I get a date and time readout: I have to swipe the screen up to get rid of this and this is annoying to do
is there a way to bypass the time/date screen when the phone or display is turned on so the normal "desktop" just appears on the screen automatically?
I do have Developer Options installed if that's needed.
My phone does NOT have a Lock Screen selection under Display.
It does have a Screensaver and I turned that off. It has not eliminated the clock/date on startup.
Phone: Motorola Moto E4 refurbished from Tello Mobile (Sprint network)
OS: Android versions 7.1.1
Developer Options installed: yes
My mistake. It is under Security.
The time and clock have nothing to do with the screen saver. If you set the screen lock to anything other than 'None', you will get a time and date, that is default. It also has nothing to do with a launcher, it is the stock launcher. Developer options also have nothing to do with it.
My wife happens to use a Moto E4. I'll can look later or I can google for you. So let me see, after a quick search for 'moto e4 7.1 lock screen' I found this article. It's from Verizon but it should be the same. It's the same phone.
Settings, Security, Screen lock.
Select a screen lock option: None
