Is it possible to send a sound file from a computer to a flip phone (a text message) to then download it and use it as a ringtone?

I've got some files I'd like to use.....and the built in ringtones are pretty awful.

You'll note I'm not overly tech savvy when it comes to cell phones, so if you know a way, please be precise.

In this modern day and age, Yes they do. Generally, they use a scaled down version of the browser but do have limited access.

I used to do it via bluetooth. Try connecting your flip phone to your PC's USB port and see what happens. I don't see why not but it depends on your particular phone.

Can you please explain to me what you mean? How would I go about doing this?

You need bluetooth on a laptop/pc. You connect to your phone via bluetooth. Of course your flip phone has to have that capability. My old samsung flip phone had that. You copy the mp3 files to the phone in the appropriate folder. You then set your flip phone to use the ringtone (mp3 file) of your choice. You need to download the mp3 files first. If your phone charges off a standard USB cable you may be able to use that to transfer files from a pc. Just plug your usb charging cable to the usb port on your pc. Here's more info.

How to transfer photos and ring tones to your cell phone

Google for more info.
