Does anyone know a place on the web where I can find legible charts identifying the icons on my TracFone? Maybe one that I can print out for future reference? Every page I try has such small print that it cannot be read. Thank you.
Look at the user manual of your phone or go online to read it. The icons typically are different per make/model of the phone and not the same for all phones used on Tracfone.

That is the first place I looked - my user manual. They are not there. Then I tried online. There is a page stuffed with - I want to say "hundreds" but - many, many of them. Too small to read. I clicked on one to enlarge it but still too small to read. I shall keep trying - or do without. Thank you.
OP, if you can't do a screenshot of your phone display, describe the icon. What is the phone make/model ?? It might allow us to provide a link to an internet site that might be useful.
Sure would be nice to use WORDS instead of icons. In a world with auto-translate, where either an icon or a word is just a collection of pixels rather than something that has to be setup for offset printing, there's no excuse, when you set up the language, not to provide an option "words instead of icons". How many people under 40 even know what it is that the "Save" icon represents?
Icons were developed when phone displays only had limited space and it was not possible to use "words instead of icons". While not universal on all devices/carriers most icons do have some uniformity and are mostly similar. As mentioned and a link posted shows, there are many internet sites that offer more detailed descriptions about phone icons. Sites like this are a good source of information. If the OP, can do a screenshot or describe the icon, I know they will get an answer to their question.
As a comparison, your home computer, tablet, laptop also use icons and people rarely complain about that.

Exactly. Turf3 doesn't even have a smartphone so he has no clue. If they used WORDS it would be impossible to read them all in the notification bar of an phone.
And you'd be surprised how many people know the SAVE icon is a disk. Source: we had this discussion at our office and I asked every single person under 40 if they knew what that was. Every single one did.
Thank you all for this conversation. "Dontaskwhy", it isn't one icon. It is the whole set of icons in Menu. Some - like the phone and/or the camera are easy. Most are not. I did not grow up on icons. I grew up on just plain American English. I am glad to learn if they (whoever they are) provide what is needed to learn.
OK. A friend did tell me that if I tap a particular icon, it will speak the purpose of that icon. That worked once, meaning I am missing a step. Maybe I can work it out. And, in case anyone is wondering why I don't call TracFone, all I can say is "have you ever tried to talk with a customer service person at TracFone? What language do they speak?
And the important thing is that Tracfone doesn't control what icons show on the phone display as much as the phone manufacturer. They could only speculate unless the rep either currently or formerly used the same or similar model of phone. You could always reach out to the cell phone manufacturer for more help.
