Hi all- My sis in law's Android phone LG- LS755 - suddenly appears to have been accessed remotely, following a service outage.
She tried to use it and the keys were being pressed by someone remotely, the screens were jiggling, batttery drainage, she could see keys being pressed by a third party. she can;t use her phone when they are taking it over. Yet All Norton scans show everything is secure, she hasn't gone to any unusual sites, hasn't downloaded anything, yet suddenly this is occurring. Her phone requires a PIN to unlock from opening screen, and she saw someone trying to enter the PIN- failing of course.

Norton support swears it's all good-maybe a hardware issue, but it's not real convincing.

Any ideas? No files, no strange websites, zero downloads

i dont know how it could of happened, it could be from ads on google apps that dont say they have ads in the play store, but i have a solution that should fix it, 1. you can do a scan but use an antivirus that uses brute force to find and destroy viruses, or reflash your phone

I think a hard reset of the phone is the best option for the OP.

Thanks both of you! I appreciate it. Yeah I think so too. She saw -in her Chrome browsing history, sites she'd never heard of. But also some keys won't work on keyboard, Norton support found zero security issues. strange

Norton is a joke. Just factory reset it and make sure she is up to date on latest security updates.

Also consider using free Lookout app as well.

Agreed. Viruses are not rampant in cell phones like they can in computers. Simply put phones are a "horse of a different color". Norton and McAfee are just bandaids to make users feel good and not as effective on a cell phone.
