Replaced the IPhone 6 Special Edition with the IPhone 2020.
3 months in the damn thing fell right on the home button, shattering that and the screen. I'd put it in an Otter Box and had a screen protector but that didn't work and of course, I had not purchased the insurance.
Verizon recommended an authorized IPhone repair guy nearby (kiosk in the mall) who I went to after trying to get my credit card company to issue a purchase protection 'refund.' Too many hoops so I had the screen replaced at the kiosk ($140). But the home button could not be replaced, so although there is one there, it doesn't function. My 'home button' is on the screen itself.
I feel like ever since I had this repair done, the phone just does not perform well. Constant connectivity problems with Sirius XM (which I realize may be an XM problem) and just very slow uploading, etc.
Not that I can do anything about this now, other than get another new phone, but I wondered if the repair place could have done something internal to affect the functionality of my phone, even possibly replacing the processor??
Anyone have any issues like this with the 2020 that has not had any repairs?
Well we don't really know what phone he has because he called it iPhone 2020. I assume it's the SE but could be an 8, as well. Not sure why the button couldn't be replaced?!? Pretty standard part.
No, the repair place did not swap your processor. Why on Earth would they do that?

My apologies...the new phone, which needed the repair, is the I-Phone SE 2020 version. $399.
Guy at the kiosk said he could replace the button, which he did, but because it was not an official Apple part, it wouldn't function and I'd have to move the home button to the screen. (a hassle).
Not sure why I thought someone might swap my processor.....could they put it in another phone?
It sounds like I should just have gotten another phone but since this one works 'mostly' for what I need it for, I'll keep it. Shelling out another $399 plus taxes and activation fees is not an attractive option.

There’s the problem. Should have went to Apple for the repair. It should be covereD since it was new.

yes indeed, if possible go to Apple Store, book appointment with their tech guys, it should be covered by warranty
