I am well aware of all that science behind "keeping your battery between 20-80 percent". I have debated this ad nauseum in other places.
Doing all this... monitoring your phone's battery religiously to always make sure it never gets full charge or never falls to zero... is flat out NOT WORTH THE EFFORT IT TAKES unless you keep your phones on average more then 3-4 years. Even then I question it. After 2 years of doing all this you may get overall 10% more (at best) battery life out of your phone. Is it worth all that? Is it worth all that when Apple will replace your battery for $50? Samsung for $70? OnePlus for $60?
If you charge daily to 100% this will start to impact your overall battery life at around 300 cycles. 1 cycle per day: about a year. Just start to...
So yea, if you never want a battery replacement ever and you plan to keep your phone for 3 years MINIMUM, then maybe do the 20-80 rule. Otherwise, move on. We have more important things to deal with in this life.
I plug mine in every night for a full charge, been doing that for years. I have kept some phones for almost two years, and never noticed any large difference in battery over a day period.
Like stated, if my current Pixel 4XL ever requires a new battery and I don't want to switch out to a new phone, I'll order out a new battery for about 50 bucks, and spend an hour to replace it. Or, pay about 80 for someone else to replace it.

We do the same and tend to keep phones for about 5 years. None of them ever had a battery issue. I'm sure it could happen, but so far nothing.
Most phones do this. They trickle charge the last 15% - 20%. You are over reaching here.
Agree. Smart chargers reduce the charging current speed toward the end of the charge. I have a couple of smart chargers at home, that turn themselves off when the cellphone's battery is fully charged.
