I have been getting one wierd text, just about every morning at 2-3am. They have just a http link, they are all different, some that have foul langauage in them. Does anyone know why they are sent? I do not have a smart phone, and know very little about these things.
Phones, smart or not, come in many makes and models. Providing this info will make it more likely a reader can give you specific help.
In very general terms: These texts are probably fishing (phishing) expeditions. Texts sent out to random numbers by a computer, trying to get a reply. Any reply. The reply would confirm that the number dialed was active. Spammers will pay pretty good money for active numbers.
If the text contains an Internet address or a phone number, then the text could be an attempt to get you to phone the number or go to that address. Either one has possible security risks.
If you don't know the incoming number, don't answer. If they know you, they'll leave a voice mail.
If you get one of these from the same number more than once, see if you phone can be set to block that number so you don't hear the ring, or are bothered by the text.
